Seat Depth
Front-to-back depth of a seat, usually including the cushion.
Definition
Seat depth decides whether feet reach the floor and knees clear the table. Dining and banquette seats often land near 18 to 20 inches for upright eating; deeper lounge seats need pillows or a chaise so shorter adults are not perched on the front edge.
