MDF
Medium-density fiberboard—an engineered wood panel.
Definition
MDF provides a smooth, stable surface for painted finishes and is common in modern case goods. It is heavy, sensitive to prolonged water, and holds screws differently than solid wood—important when you wall-anchor tall pieces.
